THE FOLLOWING IS CLASSIFIED FOR LEVEL ELEVEN CLEARANCE

SG central has been continuing to monitor the situation regarding the recent discovery of the VOID MATTER transmissions and the establishment of the secret VM clone army currently involved in research aimed at synthesizing the VOID MATTER particle. As previously outlined, the synthesis of this particle may result in the annihilation of the local galactic mass. To further bolster defense systems and develop effective countermeasures capable of addressing this most immanent threat, a convention of galactic wizards was called and scheduled for the day of Magick (11.11.11) which occurs once each century.

The Guild of Galactic Wizards (GGW) was founded in the late 21st century as an amalgam of various occult scientific and psychological practitioners descended from various cabalistic orders tracing back to the middle ages. The guild was established in order to ensure vital esoteric teachings and knowledge would be preserved throughout various predicted periods of extreme cosmic turmoil. These events were foretold via numerous prophetic encounters prior to the formation of the guild. The guild collected vast archives of knowledge accumulated throughout centuries of clandestine research and established secret off world conclaves where this information could be hidden and protected. It was the intention of the founders that this information should be preserved and made available in extreme circumstances of physical galactic peril. It was kept hidden as it involved powerful methods and tools which, in the wrong hands, could result in widespread destruction and conflict.

The VOID MATTER crisis has proven to be precisely the sort of situation envisioned by the guild founders and, therefore, the rationale for the decision to call forth the Galactic Wizards at this time. They must begin the process of data mining of the vast warehouses of hidden knowledge preserved by the guild. There are reportedly legends involving what are believed to have been previous instances of VM activity. Ancient astrologers reported the mysterious disappearances of heavenly bodies which are now theorized to have been galactic masses wiped out by the VM particle. Members of the guild hope that their ancestors may have noted particular details of these events which could help predict and defend against possible contemporary manifestations of the particle.

So it was that a section of the guild did manifest upon this planetary body to begin the process of searching the old records for clues which may help in their efforts. SG resources were called upon in this regard due to a number of data modules recently recovered from certain salvage missions involving alien debris fields dating back several millennia. SG resources were unable to determine how to access these data modules, but the guild members provided secret transcription protocols and translation algorithms which were able to interpret the data. These data artifacts proved extremely difficult to transcribe as they only gained logical cohesion when observers were placed in highly altered mental states. When observed under normal mental conditions, the data failed to offer any meaningful information and appeared to be little more than incoherent ramblings with no apparent purpose. When the mental state of the observer was chemically altered, however, the data came into focus and the observer was able to derive rational interpretations.

Based on these retrieval efforts, it was discovered that one of the data modules originated from a ship which had managed to escape a galactic mass that may have been wiped out by the VM particle. The ship had managed to find a wormhole which brought it to our local galaxy, but it ultimately lost power and drifted into the debris field where it was eventually salvaged by SG. The reports from the ship's logs revealed that the doomed civilization where it had originated had gone through a period of mass hysteria and psychotic breakdowns prior to the full manifestation of the VM particle. It appears that this symptom is an early indicator of manifestation. The particle is believed to cause such effects before it actually exists. Its subatomic structure is theorized to be such that it creates severe disruptions in space-time resulting in impacts that occur in the past (relative to the manifestation of the particle). It's a kind of "scrambling" of the space-time continuum which results in sever mental disruptions, thus the epidemics of psychotic behavior. Reality effectively breaks down so that formerly predictable events and physical laws simply unravel and existence in the effected area literally falls apart. Effects precede causes and previously impossible occurrence manifest in greater and greater numbers until the entire area impacted by the particle destabilizes and loses all molecular cohesion.

There is still much work to do in order to try to piece the available information together enough to form some kind of plan of defense against the manifestation of the VM particle. The guild's data mining activities have just begun to identify some of the initial indicators of possible VM infection. It is hoped that these symptoms may help to identify a means of counteracting the particle, but it is still unknown if, once symptoms are detected, there is any way that the particle can be stopped. It may be a case where, once the particle is eminent, there is no means of reversing or halting its progress. In any event, the guild shall continue in its efforts searching the archives in the hope of finding the clues needed to prevent this catastrophe.

Manifestation of this collection of artifacts occurred under conditions previously unknown to the SG crew. As such, there were certain challenges which may have compromised the focus and intent of these items during the execution of this mission. This may involve the presence of perceived "flaws" in the artifacts. These have, with minimal exception, been left "as is" in order to retain the integrity of the artifacts while minimizing unproductive post production efforts which, ultimately, offer little improvement over the original state of the artifact. It is sufficient to state that the experience of the mission was reward enough regardless of whether the resulting artifacts consistently retain their cohesion.
