It was an anniversary of sorts. The day of this mission marked it as exactly one solar year since the collapse of the empire of the Mysterious ones. They had sought to wield their influence throughout the quadrant, but had succumbed to their own hubris and, in a blaze of debauchery, found themselves flaming out in the stratosphere. Yet the ashes and debris of this event would yield fertilizer for new growth into the depths of space-time. And in accordance with the anniversary of the demise of that illusion, Luna would come close to us in a way not seen for many a turn. The ghosts of the past would find themselves entangled in the webs of her gravitational intensification. Interstellar arachnids would weave their webs thickly though the course of the day making navigation challenging, but not so much as to prevent the successful completion of our mission. For it was with the guidance of the great eyes that we plotted our course and made our plans to meet them in their parlour. For there were stories to tell from ancient ones who know of such things and who's words are worthy of our attention.

The moon is a symbol of illusion, of unattainable desires. Its light is a false light, a mere reflection of the true source of light, momentarily hidden from view. It is the realm of dreams which can never be. It is a place humanity knows all too well. How many generations have exhausted their time and resources in the name of fantasies and fallacies perpetuated by social orders which seek to maintain power and control through the use of deception and manipulation? How much have we lost because we choose to accept lies for truth? We dream of heavens and hells which are no more substantial than reflections in a shallow pond. We base our behaviour on standards set by nonexistent phantoms while the real fruits of the earth are heartily hoarded and enjoyed by those who have diverted us from their truth with lies designed to instil fear and inaction and blind acceptance of their inalienable right to rule and stockpile that which belongs to all. We are forever doomed to deprivation so long as we allow illusions to rule. Wake up! This dream is not ours. It was sold to us in a fraud too criminal to ignore. Wake up! Now!
